Installing W98 woes
After a lot of fiddling looking for the tilde symbol, I mamnaged to add the link to Daenzer's X installation in my apt sources.list and installed them without a problem, however after doing a startx, all I got was a black screen with a blurred white horizonal line about an inch from the bottom of my screen!

Problem: Installation screen(s) appear "pinched" or distorted unless I do the install in "vgalo" mode. Well I got the startup message, went for the auto install and was greeted by a blank screen. I left the machine for several minutes but no joy. Looking for TV recommendation

Using a normal ISP connection via the internal modem, Starcraft won't log in to Battlenet. It gets as far as letting you click on Battle.net (in the multi player options). It then either returns you back to the same screen after a few seconds (without so much as an error message) or it hangs with a black screen.

After selecting my video card ( Matrox Millenium 4 meg) and entering the refresh rates for my monitor (Gateway vivitron 17"), I finished with the xf86config program and ran startx. BG2 Woes
The first time I did this I got System Map errors all over the place and the screen was way offset. Tried again and I have a totally black screen, not even kicking up the text run of the system boot up (or the cute little penguin graphic). Is it possibly that that vga=791 should be removed now?

... I am not sure if this works with the JVC X'Eye or not - but I have a 32x that I have not been able to get working at all. I got a black screen without this. Now I have video=aty128fb:vmode:22 working because Google was able to find this: [...] (really, video and USB input devices should be 100% autodetectable) Hmm. ati128fb does successful autodetection on most machines, including my iMac. Perhaps the Cube support is still a bit
